Alexander Richard Pettyfer (Stevenage, Hertfordshire, April 10, 1990) is a British actor and model. In 2009 he recorded the film "Beastly," where he played alongside Vanessa Hudgens (Bela) and Mary-Kate Olsen (a good witch). [edit] Career Pettyfer began his career as a child model with seven years of age, modeled for brands like Ralph Lauren. He also did advertising for some brands of yogurt. His first commercial was six years old. He attended the School Mall, a small school in Twickenham. In 2005, after ending her modeling career, made his professional acting debut on British television production of Tom Brown's Schooldays, as the main character, Tom Brown, he received critical acclaim for the role. In June 2005, he played the teenage spy Alex Rider in the film Stormbreaker, based on the novel by Anthony Horowitz. He was one of 500 candidates who auditioned for the role. Pettyfer chose to appear in the film over a role in the film Eragon, noting that he preferred Stormbreaker because it would be filmed in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man while Eragon would film in the Czech Republic.Stormbreaker was released on July 21, 2006 in the United Kingdom. [edit] Personal life Once you have completed filming Stormbreaker, he did not discuss the movie with anyone in your school. Ewan McGregor, the actor who made his uncle in the film, told him to keep his personal and professional life separate. Pettyfer has since decided to leave school and concentrate on his acting career. Alex had a fast relationship with the actress Emma Watson, one of the protagonists of the acclaimed series of Harry Potter books, dating earned him a tattoo with the initials EW, many thought it was a clear homage to his then-girlfriend, but Alex said in a recent interview that the tattoo is actually a tribute to Queen Elizabeth of England, where he has a great admiration thus the rumors of his tattoo closed.
